Default Internet Browser Issues

Today I tried using the internet in my 2015 S80 D4.

No matter what I put in as an address it says ‘This Browser is no longer supported’ I even tried putting in the Volvo website used as an example on there webpage.

I was connected via my phone and the Apps work but not the browser??? Can this be updated??

Not sure if this is what your describing, but I querried several years ago how the car got on the internet - I'd seen the symbol on the floaty panel thing and could find no helpful info.
Tech guy at dealership told me that to get on the internet you needed to use your mobile phone as a "hot spot" and link the car to your phone.
However, he said the volvo system was soooooo clunky it would be easier and quicker just to use the phone in the first place... so I do.
If its anything like the voice recognition software it will be pants. The VRS don't understand ANY WORD i say to it - so thats something else thats not used.

Cheers
Bob

Thanks for the replies and link.

I am able to connect via my phone as a hotspot and subsequently I can get the Apps to work. The problem is whatever website address I put in the internet it says ‘Browser no Longer Supported’
I wondered if anyone else was experiencing this or if they knew of an update?

Cheers for that Tjr, you have confirmed my thoughts. Strange that they are not updating the browser 5 or 6 years really isn’t that old to stop support
