I'm at both the Northern and National. Had a chat with Jaki Ragg on Monday evening, and was told of the layout to the national this year as it is only going to be a one day event. Admittedly things wont be the same, but should still have a decent turn out on the day.

Must admit it's not exactly a short run down the road for you. Even Underdrive coming down from Stranraer has a fair old run to get to the Northern meet. Pity there is not a Scottish BKV, being in north Lancashire I'd probably come up for a couple of days.

I just drove back up from Leamington Spa and came back via Wetherby Services, it was a nightmare. It took 2 hours longer than predicted due to the traffic on the roads just to get to Wetherby. At the services there was a que to get in, it was mobbed. It's probably a 7hr drive each way to Wetherby from Aberdeen in the 142. I drive down to near the Lakes a few times each year and that's as far south as I like to drive to be honest. After that it's just too busy and not a pleasant drive. I rarely drive in congested and busy traffic and don't enjoy driving in England to be honest. Sounding like a grumpy old man but I like the quiet roads up here.

I completely agree, I feel the same about travelling south but do occassionally if the incentive is big enough.

The VOC does have a Scottish Section. Active? I don't know. It is listed in the front of the Driver.
Ross Macdonald - rossmac123@aol.com If enough members, or non members, bombard him with mails you might be able to sort something out.

I understand what you are saying, as a former HGV driver I always preferred my runs up north. Better roads, and I've got to admit better manners from other road users. A bit of respect for the HGV lads doing their job. Hope you decide to get down to the Northern meet, will be a pleasure to meet you, in the mean time take care and travel safe. P.S. good luck at Wembley....
