Default Volvo v70 SE

Hi I have a 2008 v70 D5 SE I use this car daily but every week or so I go to unlock it and the alarm goes off and I can't unlock it only the boot will open. I put a battery pack on the battery and it opens and starts with no problem any suggestions to what this maybe

low battery + random electrical gremlins = needs new battery?

just a guess, I would take it to a battery place and ask them to test it. a new battery is cheaper and less agro than a tow truck at 1am because you left your sidelights on for 10mins

does it normally happen after you've been doing short journeys and better if you've done a nice long drive. lots of people only doing local drives these days obvious reason

ok well that is a decent distance ..

still I would get it checked seeing as the only thing we have to go on is that it works when you connect a booster pack ? unless anyone else comes along with better suggestions

I have heard a number of times, low battery can cause issues

Yup, agreed with Stuart.

Low battery causes all kinds of mayhem on these Volvos
