Hesitatant acceleration
Hi all!
Just bought a v40 2003 diesel estate for a family car load lugger type thing, for not much cash. It has a very odd prob and before I spend I fortune trying to get it sorted I thought I'd ask you fine guys if you had a idea what maybe up. So on slight acceleration it hesitates, like a stutter pulsating losing power. Give it a boot full and it's fine. Also fine on motorways at speed. Any ideas where to look, it has done 180k but kinda hope it'll last a few years before I need to replace. Thanks in advance! |

Try unplugging the MAF sensor and see if it makes a difference

It could be the MAF, or it may also be one of the other sensors. When you disconnect the MAF, the ECU uses default values to operate the engine, while ignoring the inputs from all other sensors. So, ideally have the OBD2 codes read first, to see if any faults come up

Yeahhh new maf has helped but still plays up a bit. I'll pop my reader on tomorrow and see what is flagged up on it. Just drove 300 miles cross country in it and it was sweet even with sensor unplugged..
