Default V70 subwoofer- fan question for owners…

Hi folks,
Fitted a sub to my ‘05 v70 today including wiring in the loom.

Can I ask if the fan on your sub amplifier runs constantly when the car is on?

I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to climb in the boot and lock it to see if I have a wiring issue.

Cheers
Dave

Just checked with mine with factory wiring loom - the fan for the amp does spin whenever the car is on (key pos 1, ignition, engine running etc) - this is regardless of the Headunit being on.

I don’t suppose there’s anyone in the Colchester area who would allow me to plug their sub into my car for two minutes?

I’ve just been through fault finding and it would appear that although my switched ground wire is working as it should, the amp is permanently on and the fan constantly running.

Even with the violet switch wire removed from the block.

I can only assume I have a fault with the amp and the easiest way to check that is to compare it with one that is definitely working properly.

Cheers
Dave

You've posted this in the sales section - you may get a better response if you hit report and ask for it to be transferred to the General section.

I'v got the subwoofer - I had no idea it had a fan!

Thanks,
I realised that after I’d posted, perils of using an iPhone all the time.
Have asked the moderators to move it but I expect they’re enjoying a well earned weekend off.
