Can anyone give me an idiots guide on how to park in neutral with parking brake off and engine off, ie when wanting to go through auto car wash which has to be engine off and car in neutral.

Put the car in N then switch off engine, this should do it, it’s what manual says for car wash

If the car is switched off in N position there is no automatic change-over to P position. This makes it possible to wash the car in an automatic car wash.
