V50 2010/11 xenon headlight and grille

Mrs hit a deer today which smashed front grille and right headlight which is auto levelling. Will an earlier year grille and headlight fit? Not bothered if doesn’t look identical grille. Any advice appreciated.

I'm fairly sure the pre-facelift grills and headlights are a different size and shape respectively to the newer ones.

Having checked VIDA, the part number (31299616) for a right hand gas discharge (Xenon) headlamp never changed from 2008 onwards. Grilles will be the same.

Basically, as long as it's post-facelift (2008 onwards) you'll be OK.

31299600 is no on the head light. They are self levelling/ cornering. Would it matter coz just turn cornering option off on switch?. Should be same bar cornering facility?. I’m sure replacement from Volvo would be megabucks. Happy with standard If it works. It’s only the plastic on front that’s broken. Cheers.

Ah. You only mentioned self levelling which all xenon's have. Active bending part number is 31299620. Part number the same from 2008 onwards. Searching for the number you gave on VIDA brings up no results.

I would only replace like for like. The chances of the car's electrics and connectors all working with a non-active bending unit are low. Unluckily I suspect active bending units are harder to find than without. There's only one on eBay in Lithuania at nearly £500.
