No update on the wheels, but I did get these......

Yellow covers for the headlamps, because I hought they were cool!

But whilst in the engine bay I noticed this

Should my carb have some sort of cover or cowl? It looks like there are x3 screw holes around the outside of it, also what sort of carb is it? Is it the stromberg?

Yeah, they are great, they're abit lighter than I thought they would be but I'm really chuffed,

So here's the new wheel compared to the spare

And here are the wheels fitted

Default Wow!

That's better! The wheels were really holding it back.

It looks freakin' awesome now! SO worth every penny.

I love my V70 dearly but I am rather jealous of your 240.

I really might have to get myself one eventually...

Boots.

Don't know if you've had any feedback on the missing piece of the carb. Carb is a Zenith DVG according to the Haynes and should have a cap on it which turn the top part into an oil reservoir for the central damper. This was added for '81 on so yours should have it. You might be just topping yours up if you have the older unscrew type damper. Maybe someone can help you with the parts you need. Having the damper working properly is important for good carburation. Damper pot shown on page 217 of the earlier green cover Haynes. Best one for you, as the later thinner red one misses a lot out. Having both is a good idea.

Thank you, I'll have a look and see what the manual says, if I need to get a better dash pot I can do, although I have checked this one and it does hold oil,

Your car looks stunning now, you're so lucky to have it, and in such amazingly good condition too. I rather like the upright grill on those earlier cars, it gives more 'presence' somehow, very dignified.
