Default Something very heavy in the bootlid is loose

Hi,
I had a problem which started a year ago... the boot wouldn't "catch" or lock when i went to close the lid so Id have to close the lid, then open and shut and open and shut etc until the catch caught. It would always unlock when i turned the ignition off. So I was going to get a some new electrics fitted to the boot lock but it was costed at £400. I made do. Recently, I assume with much more wear and tear with opening and closing the boot to lock it, something heavy has come loose in the boot lid. It sounds like there is a piece of concrete moving around in the lid. Any idea what this is? I need to secure it as it makes a real racket when Im opening and closing the boot. Is whatever it is easy to get to and secure?
On that note, is this issue of the boot not catching the first time an MOT failure?
Its starting to unlock when i drive it. The boot lid is too heavy to open so im not concerned about things flying out... but thought id ask.

Many Thanks

It's not a hard thing to do, as Stumps video shows you need to remove the trim panels and then it will become obvious that it's either the wiper motor has gone for a dance V series or the lock plate is loose either series.

Failing that and before you start stripping the boot down check the silly things, do you have a heavy object in the boot unsecured, are the struts able to support the boot still and can you push the boot down a bit and cause slack movement on either side which would suggest the bump stops need adjusting.

I'd say if the boot is self opening or feels like it's not lined up it's going to be the striker plate or catch mechanism aren't secure.
