Hi,
The stud pattern of 5 x 108 is Ok but the offset is going to be wrong. I think the 240 should be wheels with 25mm offset and those are 35mm.. 17" will be a bit tight on a 240 I think.. Des. . .

17s will fit a 240 if you get the offset right. Rolled rear arches may be needed. This one is on the front page of turbo-bricks

17s look axcellent on the 240s although I wouldnt put non volvo items on, therefore leaving you with a choice of....polaris...........or polaris!! (and polaris is the definition for "empty wallet"!!!)
Here is a 242 with polaris wheels on: Steve

You've definitely got to watch the offset - 20-25mm range is good for 240s. The 16s on mine get close to the wheel arch on compression - in fact they touched the arches when I had Volvo spacers on the back as the arches have a large lip on them. I've heard of lots of issues with 17s to get them to work properly - 16s seem to be a more practical maximum.

Not always will Polaris wheels break the bank. I was very fortunate the other day, went to scrappy to get a towbar and a few other bits and bobs for my 940, and while walking past the alloy wheels, a certain wheel caught my eye. At first I thought I was seeing things but NO they are they cant be, but they were a full set of Polaris alloys just sitting there, so I got my mate to keep an eye on them and went to inquire about the price, £20 a wheel he said, well this was a no brainer so we walked away from the scrappy with,
4x Polaris alloys. 1x Witter towbar. 1x Volvo swan neck towbar. 2x Full sets of Volvo Plastic floor mats. 1x Volvo dog guard. 1x Rear lamp. and a few other bits and bobs all for £130 now that is a good days work. Now just need to get some good tyres fitted and pics will be posted in the 900 thread when completed. |

Same thing I thought when I saw them. You see, I used to have Volvo's a few years ago, had several over a 6 year period, was on here then but no idea what my user name and stuff was, then a mate of mine got a 760 awhile ago and had probs so we came on here again, brought back all the memories of when I had volvo's, and as things have changed in my life, failed business and so on, I am now unable to run the new vehicles I once did. Now this is in no way a bad thing, as it has brought me back to Volvo's. Now when I had my 740 estate, I managed to get hold of a parts broucher, and in it were these Polaris alloys, at the time I got prices for a set from my local dealer, but the comment of thats if we can get them was said. Like I said , I spyed these out of the corner of my eye, but knew straight away what they were, and as for the price, I would have happily paid much more, but the scrappies unless they are specialists dont always know what they have in their yard, so my gain their loss. Have to say can not wait until I get them all done up and fitted.
