Default My heater won't shut off fully.

Can anyone offer advice on how to shut off the warm air coming into the cabin when both the heater knobs are closed please? The flow of warm air is only small but irritating on days when the heater is not wanted.

Have you got the Electronic Climate Control, where you move a dial and motors do the work? If so is it possible one of the motors is no longer responding to input from the dial?

If you've got the manual linkage system where you can feel that moving the dial is moving the flap then I don't know I'm afraid.

Cheers, Pete

Default Heater not shutting off fully.

My apologies; should have said that it is the manualy controlled system and although there does not appear to be any free play in the controls; there is still some warm air coming from the heater. Do the temperature controls operate water shut off valves or an air flap. If it is the latter how do I remove the heater control front plate and is there any way to improve things please.

I just turn the temp down a little and direct it to the windscreen. You'd never notice it.

Are you closing the vent with the slider knob next to the vent? If so, the foam around the vent door could be gone, which would allow a little bit of ait out around them.

just turn them temp down, if you turn fully down it will just send cold air from outside into the car.
this is just a guess but if you ajust the air mix dial you will probably be able to get recirculating ie; no fresh air into the mix, and therefor in effect shut of the flow from outside, not tried this but its worth a fiddle.

The problem is that when the temperature controls (Knobs) are turned fully anti-clockwise there is still a small amount of warm air coming into the footwells. This is nice on a cold day but not on a warm one. Just wondering if hot water all ways flows through the heater and the amount of air that it warms is controlled by a manual flap, or is the temperature of the air coming into the car controlled by a water valve?
