Default Trim Fastener Removal 2005-

Morning all,

Probably an easy one. Could someone tell me how to remove the interior door trim fasteners on the 2005 onwards cars, please? They are not the easy ones fitted to the earlier version. I've pushed in the tiny core on a couple but have destroyed one trying to get it out as they don't seem to release like the older ones? Am I missing something really simple here? Do I pry the fastener or the whole panel?

Best regards,

Rich.

On my 2005 S60 the pin pushes all the way in, then they release pretty easily.

Do they look similar to this?

Thanks. Yes but with less well defined inners.

Success! If anyone else is equally incapable, you need to push the pins in a lot further than you think until you feel/ hear a slight clunk. Even then, it's an awkward removal as the little pin you've pushed in is now loose in the sheath ready to be lost as you remove the clip and door panel. Long tweasers are required to get them out before moving the panel.
