How could you tell my version was slightly newer?

Thanks guys. I'll get on the www today to suss it out.
Just re-read OP there now. The part number he listed for the belt suggests 1795mm is the correct length.

The description in that image for the idler roller says "complete". And I don't see a separate screw/bolt in the diagram for the idler pulley. Does that imply the screw/bolt is part of the pulley assembly?

If it comes with a bolt, great, if not, reuse the old one.

No joy with any of those part numbers or any form of description on PFV. The pulleys (and their dimensions) on Mr Auto site look correct, but the bolts in the images don't.
At this point, I'm just going to see what the parts shop has for me tomorrow. I'll take my pulley & bolt with me this time (and the part numbers provided by you kind folk), and I'm sure they'll be able to sort me out from all of that. I'll post my outcome, in case it helps anyone else running a D5252T.

Again with the long bolt. Either that long one is right and my short one (yeah, yeah) is wrong, or vice versa. I may just accept the one I get from the local parts shop (with the long bolt) and see how it fits and aligns. I'm no engineer, but it seems to me that if only the threaded part of the long bolt seats into the hole in the engine casing, then there'll be a gap between the face of the engine casing and the pulley. Surely that's not good? It'd place hefty forces on the shaft of the bolt, no? If the supplied bolt is too long and places the pulley out of alignment, then I'll just have to re-use my current shorter bolt. Or maybe the parts shop will have a new bolt the same as mine so I can avoid using my old bolt. Thanks again Cheshired5 (and the other lads) - I do appreciate your help, and I'm not in the habit of sitting back and letting others do my footwork.

Got the pulley this morning, fitted it just now. All good - I used my own bolt cos the one that came with the pulley was the same long one that seems to come with it on all the sites I viewed it on. The guys in the parts shop pressed out the supplied bolt so I could just use my own. Alignment is fine, belt tension seems fine. All reasonably straightforward & stress-free. Thanks a million to y'all - I very much appreciate your help.
Now... The car won't start. I thought it was going to, cos the start-up lights on the dash lit up, but all I got when I turned the key was the clicking. I assume there's no juice because when I drove the 1.5 miles home, any/all electrics running would have drained the battery? Would just 1.5 miles without the alternator being driven drain the battery that fully and quickly? I've also been unlocking/locking it with the remote fob a couple of times each day since the belt went last Wednesday, so I doubt that helped. I tried to jump it off my dad's car (1.4 petrol Focus), but had no joy. Might his car have struggled to provide enough oomph to jump my 2.5 diesel? Wouldn't even give me enough to light up the dash lights. Might I have better chance with one of those super-duper jump start units? Or another bigger-engined car? The status indicator on my battery says battery is discharged. It has maybe 50,000+ miles on it - hardly nearing end of life? Or (mind wandering off to dark places) have I damaged something? Have I asked enough questions?

Chances are the short drive has drained the battery. It doesn't take long to drain a battery if the alternator isn't running. Ideally you need a car with a bigger engine to jump your diesel, though holding the Ford at high revs while attempting to jump your car might work. Personally if I had the time and the equipment, I would remove the battery from the car and charge it in the house. If you do manage to jump your car with the Ford, you'll have to let your engine idle for ages or take the car for a good 30 mins drive to recharge the battery.
