So the e208 was attached by a rogue motorbike who took the front off the car - leading to a £16k repair bill and the subsequent writing off of the car

This left me £1k short on the finance so got to pay that off (I know gap insurance exists but across the last 23yrs of car ownership, I'm defo up)

So I've ordered an XC40 Recharge through salary sacrifice - yes it's leasing but no deposit, insurance included, servicing included and tyres included.

It's the 408bhp version base spec (cheapest on the list of Volvos)

0-60 in 4.8seconds - fk it was fast on the test drive haha

Anyway - here's the vid of the accident (no injuries to anyone but viewer discretion adviced)

So for now I have a full blue estate driveway

Bought a 2004 Passat TDI high line with 280,000 miles - £300

It's beaten up a fair bit but runs so nice and just achieved 50mpg on a 180 trip

You would expect a rider of a certain age to have some modicum of sense.
Apparently not. He has joined the whumpadump fraternity!

He was confused and looked at the wrong green arrow I think

He's lucky to just have a few bruises

Thankfully pedestrian impact is built into modern cars ... but it does mean a car is totalled

I often comment "wrong shade of red, was it?" but they never hear me.

Lush weekend at Car Fest

Car got lots of interest from passing people 👍🏻

Thanks to the forum person who went out of their way to chat and thanks to the guy who used to work for Harratts Wakefield who chatted to me about the car 👍🏻

I've been enjoying the Volvo but not driving it loads - it's slow and innefficient and while great for cruising in the summer but it needs a bit more up and go.

So I've committed

I have a 940 turbo block with turbo, pipes, intercooler etc etc

I've found an amazing community member who will fit it for me

I'm also going for a wasted spark set up

I'm just gathering some bits and I know I won't recoup my money but if it makes it more of a driveable car then well worth it

Well worth it - you won't be disapointed.
don't forget to get the downpipe (turbo/exhaust back)
If you have the M90 with the engine you'll need a spacer for the prop shaft.
From memory (what's that?!) you may need the resistor pack from the 940 if you are using the blue/green fuel injectors.
Probably other stuff too but the swap is pretty well covered on line.

Mega - thanks

The engine comes with the downpipe and CAT

I have a custom stainless exhaust so I'm hoping I can get something bodged until my exhaust bloke can make it better.

I'm not going to use the M90 box - I don't want big bhp so will stick with the 240 box

Green injectors sourced

Just need the 2 x ECU and I think I have everything

Use 850 T5 injectors (orange or white) to save having to hack your wiring loom

The 940 down pipe needs a lot of cutting and shutting to work

you will need to do something with flywheel/clutch
