The DRL sidelights - always been flakey sometimes none would not come on and sometimes the other would turn off after 10mins of driving

Had cleaned up all the contacts but it was clear they were just loose in the fitting

This is the fitting (1989 2.0 GL)

and yes that's it cleaned up haha

What it looks like is there is a fixing top left fails with corrosion

So a little screw from my Tamiya box of parts

Well that's fixed it for now

Sorting out these little jobs for no real cost is one of the most rewarding things about older motor car ownership JJ.

When I changed mine I ended up having to cut it out with a hacksaw blade, so as to protect the bell housing. A laborious job but better than having to change the bell housing.

Whoop whoop the sun is out and it's time to do some bits on the car.....

Bought a set of bulkhead braces from Viking Fabrications

I originally fitted them with some heat shrink but being bare steel and a rock of them rusting pretty quick, I thought I'd give them a paint!

Etch primer

Body coloured paint

2k lacquer

They cost £45 and come with the fittings and the Volvo already has the threaded hole for them (called with a small black push fit)

On my k-jet, the fuel pipe is slightly in the way so I removed the 2 clamps and added some rubber sleeving where the pipe touches the brace (don't want it wearing through and having a fuel leak onto the engine)

And while I had the paint out, I painted a 1/10 version of the car...

I have a fairly large collection of RC cars, I don't drive them though.
Most are 1/12 but there are a few 1/10. Oldest (i think)is a 1/10 Ferrari P4 by Ellegi.(but it could be a Matra 630.)
They are made up of F1 and Le Mans cars. all are battery powered.
