HU603 and Grom USB - CD and CD-Changer

I've had a Grom USB unit fitted for a while, and it is very good.
Linked via Bluetooth to my phone, it's always worked fine.

I recently decided to attach a USB drive as well.

This also worked fine, until yesterday.
When I turned the ignition on, there was a loud clicking noise.
I disconnected the USB drive.

The noise stopped, but now the CD and CD-Changer options via the Source button have vanished!

I've raised a ticket at Grom, but I was wondering if this sounds like the head unit is fried.

Is it possible to just swap an HU-603 for a replacement one off ebay?

How is the device powered? If it is via dc plug, may just be a matter of replacing the fuse inside the male piece which connects to the cig lighter...
