Default Windscreen washer jets

My wife’s car has it appears a problem with its washer jets. They won’t squirt much above two or three inches onto the screen. The pressure seems ok but the aim is low. Tried to adjust the jets height but seemingly they don’t adjust. I have used a needle to clean out the holes. The headlight washers work powerfully and I’ve refilled the washer bottle.
Do these jet nozzles adjust or will they need to be replaced in order to get them squirting further up the windscreen please?

My drivers side jet seems to be on it's way out..

I assume it's just limeascale/crud building up internally so plan to strip them off and give them a soak in vinegar or something similar.

There are two types of nozzles on a P3 v70 - normal jets and fan pattern ones. I’m not sure which your car has but if it is the conventional twin jets then they can be adjusted by sticking a pin in the hole and moving it. They’ll be berry stiff at first, but will move with a bit of wiggling.

I had similar symptoms to you - high flow from the headlight washers and a trickle out of the windscreen jets. It turned out to be the T-piece under the bonnet which has a small valve in it. As soon as I replaced that my washers worked as normal again. It cost about a fiver off eBay, as I wasn’t prepared to pay the ridiculous price for a genuine one.

Did you just type in w/ washer jet valve Volvo or is there something more specific? Not very savvy with computers I’m afraid.

Do the spray nozzles simply pop up of the t piece below the bonnet skin? Push fit?
I guess soaking in vinegar to shift any limescale build up would be fairly easy if that were the case?

Yes, I just searched for Volvo washer jet on eBay.
I think if I were after genuine ones I might also try some of the Volvo dealers who frequent the traders section of the forum.
