Default De activate ACC

Apologies as I’m sure this has been covered but is there anyway to de active the adaptive portion of the cruise control on a 2024 XC60? It’s very frustrating and I’m having to lightly depress the accelerator to briefly over ride it while on a motorway otherwise you have to pull out to overtake 3 miles before you actually get the car you’re trying to pass (slight exaggeration). I’m guessing you can’t without deactivating certain parts of the software. Any tips?

On earlier models when you put the indicator on to overtake it immediately overrides and starts to accelerate to the pre-set speed.

You can reduce the distance to the vehicle in front using the buttons on the steering wheel.

I agree the default setting is rather cautious as seems to give a 3 second interval. A couple of dabs on the reduce distance button will bring it down to about 1 second interval. It will remember this setting even after the engine has been switched off.

On my Sensus car I can select normal cruise control in the Sensus screen, you have to select it every time you start the car, I never use it and prefer ACC. Is there an option on newer cars.

Unfortunately not, it’s either ACC or pilot assist now.

It’s fine when following on a single carriageway. But if you’re approaching a slow moving vehicle at a high rate of closure on a motor way it’ll start slowing down way before I’d think about moving out. It’s something I’m just going to have to get used to. I’ve got it set to the minimum following distance
