  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default How much can you skim off head and block of b230

I have a b230 ft I need to skim the head and block theres pitting from corrosion and what thickness of head gasket to use when they are machined.I wanted to keep the block because on the squirters thanks for any help

In non turbo form it is common to skim 2mm off. With turbo I would not want to take more than 0.5mm combined off

Unless you are building something special use the normal head gasket. If you are building something special then your engine builder will work it out for you

It is turbo 0 .5 won't be enough to clear the pitting

Best bet is to weld up the pitted areas before machining
