Volvo in Motorsport.

Hi all....

Part of why I chose my Volvo was it's rich motorsport heritage. We have....

ETCC 240 Turbo from the 80's
BTCC 850 (Estate and Saloon) from the mid-90's
BTCC winning S40 from the late 90's
ETCC S60 fron the 00's

What have I missed out? I'm keen to find out more....Does anyone know of any Books, Videos, or DVDs on the subject?

Numerous victories in national championships in Australia, NZ and Nordic countries with 240's and ex. BTCC 850's and S40's, and to display my age great success in the late '50's, early '60's with Tom Trana and others in PV's and Amazons....Safari Rally wins if I remember.

I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong but I think Rickard Rydell was the winning driver of the 850's. He did rather well in the 1980's

His success continues....Including of course, his '98 BTCC Title at the wheel of an S40

Saw the 850 estates on one of their first outings at Brands Hatch....They sounded absolutely gorgeous at full chat, accelerating out of Druids!

If anyone is interested, just found a book called "Speed in Sweden" on Volvo's merchandise website (http://merchandise.volvocars.se) celebrating Sweden's Motorsport centenary....Think I'll be getting my dealer to order me one!

Lots of other nice stuff on there too!
