Angry Tow bars in Canada different size?

I have recently purchased an Canadian trailer tent unaware until recently I was told that the tow ball on my 850 is smaller than the USA spec tow.
The tow bar on my 850 is detachable, does anyone have a clue what I am on about and know the answer to my question, and are they any adapters to make my towbar fit or is there no difference to our tow bars? to the USA Canada etc.
The trailer tent tow bar is hydrallic and the 850 is of the T5R variety so I want to keep at standard. Everything else is even down to the floor mats and the paper stickers on the doors when it was manufactured.
Anyone!!
Thanks in advance Dan

Hi Dan,

American spec. tow balls are 1 7/8 inch diam (45.9mm) as opposed to the European 50mm diam.

Therefore, a European socket will fit (but not be secure) on a US spec ball, but a US spec socket will not fit a European ball.

The only way to make your trailer fit your car is to either buy a US spec ball from the States or retro-fit a European socket onto your trailer. There are no adaptors that I'm aware of.

Cheers
