Default Pitching when towing , trailling arm bushes ?

I run a 2008 Gen 3 V70 with 117000 miles. Changed caravan recently (loaded weight 1300kg so quite light). I'm experiening problems with pitching on poor roads. Stability is fine but it does make for an uncomfortable ride. had shock absorbers checked and they are ok, nosewieight set at about 90kg using a noseweight guage which may be suspect but will check when caravan returns from service next week.

I had the rear trailing arm bushes replaced at 700000, would they have any affect on oitching ?

Shed indeed, had me puzzled for a while.

Tyre pressures correct but nose weight may be wrong because gauge I'm using has had a bad press.

Just got the caravan back from servicing, Took some ballast to bring up the noseweight which was 88kg on our bathroom scales when we got home. Much less pitching at that weight.

You sure about your nose weight? Mines an xc70 manual and nose weight limit on it is only 75kgs. Once I had sorted the loading to achieve this figure I have never experienced pitching while on the road, rebuilding the Alco hitch last year sorted the slight sway I was getting passing trucks also.

Thanks for reply.

Mine's an auto, handbook says 90KG for auto, 75KG for manual and 50KG for unbraked trailer. Also auto has much higher towing limit, can't figure why, but I'll stick to less than 85%

Depend on what year car for nose weight
The V70 2007 has only 75 kg
Yet the xc 2007 has 95 kg

My P3 v70 also suffered with pitching. I run the nose weight at the caravans spec of 75kg, I found fitting grays ton rubber donuts in the rear springs vastly improved. Very noticed the p3 rear suspension is softer than earlier generations. Im considering better springs and shocks, despite everything being allegedly ok.
