Default What is QAI?

I have seen several references to QAI and am not sure what is involved.

My XC60 came from a dealer several hundred miles away ( bought via internet ) and is now one month old.

Is QAI part of the warranty and what does it cover?

I presume from the posts that I have read that it is normally performed at 3 months?

I could not see a mention in the service record book, so is it essential or a nice to have that some dealers perform?

Thanks
Jimbg

It is a Quality Assurance Inspection. It is a part of the Vovlo schedule, takes about an hour and I believe it is a part of the warranty.
When mine was done 18 months ago they also updated the software in the car so it should be done.

I've had my XC60 for 6 weeks and done 2000 miles. QAI needs to be done at 3000 miles or 3 months

It can be done at any Volvo Dealership, it doesn't have to be the one you bought it from.

I had my last QAI done at a local Dealership and not the one I bought it from.

Just remember to make sure they stamp your service book to show its been done.

Is there a "place" for it? I did not notice one when I looked in the service book, I will look again in the morning as it is really raining here in Devon at the moment!!

yes it is the next one down from the PDI, the interval actualy is 3 months rather than mileage but if you do exceptional mileage go in 3000 miles . yes lashing down here too , a nice weekend ahead though :-)
