Default D5 separate transmission without lifting engine out?

I've got what looks like the core plug failure with a beefy oil leak between my engine and transmission. Can I remove it to replace to plug and whatever gaskets are in there without lifting out the whole engine?

I would like to avoid that if possible :P

I was wondering if it's possible to slide it sideways on a jack to get enough space to renew the seals and plug or even just drop it out the bottom without dropping the engine.

I was expecting to just lower it on a jack with some wood on. Do you know of any guides on how to do this?

I've since found this video so it must be possible:

I guess just remove the front left everything!

In all honestly it is easier removing both engine and box together.... we done this to fix the core plug issue too

Note, also a good time to check engine mounts and the condition of the turbo. In
If pre 2006, may well be a good in opportunity to check the AWD spline drive too.
