Default Fair Price?

Hi Chaps
on ebay, S90 CD, 33K, I went to view it on saturday, its very nice, heated seats were not working, small knock from NS suspension needs a good valet but otherwise superb. Blokes asking £2450, I personally think this is a little steep, around £1750 is what Id reckon baring in mind theres no evidence of cam belt change and all the window base rubbers fold over and squeek when lowering the windows!

Your opinions please !

So what do YOU think

Could the mileage be questionable ?

Hi Chaps.
mileage appears genuine with MOTs etc to back it up, the body and chassis are in superb rust free condition, its just I seem to recall a tourqoise blue one going for £1675 with 44k and cam belt, bushes etc all done, also had easy clean grey leather interior!

Also roof lining had a slight droop!

Can anyone else recall one with similar mileage been sold in the last couple of years????

Sorry, dont know how to link!

If that was a V90 with 33k I would have snapped his arm off for £2450. Heated seats is probably a really easy fix. And of course there wouldn't be any evidence of a cam belt change - it doesn't officially need one for about another 50k

That being said, I would be like you and be a bit concerned about that, so you could use that point to beat him down a bit I guess. And there's the fact saloons aren't worth as much as the estates.

Edit: Link to S90

Hi Claw,
do you recall what it went for on ebay last time?

My only issues with the car are Im guessing most of the rubbers have perished on the suspension like they had on my 360 GLT, also as stated before the cam belt would need changing!
So I would expect some expense shortly after buying the car, which you have to take into account when considering the price!
cheers Jason

Hi as mentioned above there Isn't really a right or wrong answer here as a car is worth what an individual is willing to pay for it. I'm about to buy a 960 on Thursday and I'm paying £675 for it which for a 20 year old car some would say is steep but the way I'm looking at it is I'm buying Volvo quality that 20 years ago would probably have cost in excess of £15k ?? that's a lot of car for only £675 and its got 12 months mot. Personally I wouldn't pay over £2k for a S90 but that's just me if your happy to buy it then don't hesitate !! Again it was most probably well over £15k when new so still a lot of car for only £2k. Good luck
