Default Thinking of selling my 2003 XC90

The title says it all, I have too many Volvo's really so I thinking of selling either the XC90 or the XC60.

The XC90... I had a major service done this year and had all the fluids changed including the gearbox. I didn’t get the Haldex fluid changed as when Peter looked at it he found it still looked like new fluid. I did forget to ask for the coolant to be changed though so that should be done at the next service really. I just put a new set of wiper blades on as I change them before every winter.

I’ve had all the original design weak spots done. New wheel bearings and upgraded splined sleeve kit.

It will need a new set of tyres in about 4k miles or so. (unless you wear them below 4 mm that is. I always change them at 4mm) I had all the shocks changed at about 65,000 miles.

I’m finding it hard to choose whether to sell the XC90 or the XC60. In some ways the XC90 is nicer to drive than the XC60. (and it seats 7) I prefer the power delivery of the XC90 D5 but like the driver support pack and active headlights on the XC60 D5 . I guess it's the way it delivers power that makes the guys at Charlwood Volvo say mine is the nicest XC90 to drive of any of the XC90's that they get in there.

The XC90 has done 86,000 miles now. It costs £290 to tax, and for everyone here to drive it’s £287 a year insurance. I just had it detailed and had the Williams ceramic coat put on at a cost of £1000. Also 3 months ago had a Volvo detachable tow bar fitted that’s only been used once. It has a Parrot for mobile phones and a Dension Gateway for USB or iPod connection. It is also fitted with a 10 disc DVD player with 4 sets of headphones. It’s a pre DPF car so I regularly get 40 mpg from it. I’m thinking £5750, does that sound reasonable?

The front grille is the updated one Volvo sell as an accessory. I still have the original one of course and that will go with the car.

I'm not totally sure that it will be the one I sell though, Head says sell, heart says keep.

No. It was done 16,500 miles ago together with the tensioner and axillary belt. (it cost £212.50) As I said it had a full service including all fluids except for the coolant on 27th June. at 82,724 miles. MOT is due in March 2016.

Also no to any issues.

I looked at what the dealers were selling an XC90 for with 86,000 on the clock and knocked off £1200. Maybe not enough? No way I'd sell it for 3k though. From what Peter at Charlwood Volvo tells me there aren't any nicer than mine at any price.

A friend offered me £6,000 for it a couple of months ago but I wasn't thinking of selling it then, and by the time I decided it would make sense to sell one of my cars he had bought a brand new one.

One thing I noticed about the photos Mark Marell posted is that in a number of them the bonnet isn't shut. It is in the photo of it outside my garage. There are also photos of it in my gallery. They're old ones in my gallery but it doesn't look any different now to the day I bought it except maybe being a bit shinier because of the detailing Mark did.
