Cool Parts/screw identifying help?

I have recently bought an '89 240 GL and I'm trying to fix all the immediate broken things.

What is this broken clip for? it was in the boot area.
& is there anywhere/ anyone with one I can buy? + I have a missing screw, the same as the one in the picture, any identification on the specs of that?

Thank you!

Ah that makes sense, the previous owner said he used to have a dog guard but threw it away/lost it many years ago

Cheers!
