Smile Volvo S/V70 Heated Seats (1999) post ME7

Hi all,

I've just put some black leather seats into my S70 to replace the tired cloth ones. I noticed off the car I tool them out that they were in fact heated and my clothes ones were not. The wire connectors on the bottom of both seats were identical. Is it just a case of fitting the switches or is it more complicated than that?

Many thanks,

Ed

First off disconnect the battery before removing,or disconnecting the seat as this can set an air bag fault. Check you have radio code first, also the car may drive a bit different after as the engine ecu relearns.
Make sure the seats are definitely for 1999 on model year car as side air bag set up.

I think that the cable is already in the car and just needs plugging in , along with a switch pack.

Roger.

I think the plugs will provide you the power to move the seat but without the heated seat buttons, I suspect the heat wont work. On my 98/99 R, the heated seat buttons are to the front of the gear lever.

The 99 cars are pre-wired for heated and electric seats.
Just get the the switch console in front of the gear stick, the wiring plugs are just below it and plug the switches straight in.
One of the best mods I done to mine, there the best heated seats I've ever had in a car.

My 1st S70 had cloth seats with no heater elements, I bought heated seat foams and only discovered when I removed the seat it already had heated foams, I just needed to add switches.

I should have a switch console I can get to you this week if needed. Just drop me a private message and we can work something out.
