Tramlining While towing
I have an '03 V70 T5 which i use for towing our single axle 23' swift and experience severe tramlining to the extent that i try and use the middle lane as much as poss.
I know the tramlining subject has been discussed in the v70 forum, but wish to know whether or not any of you guys had experienced this and how you get round it. Anyone got any ideas? thanks Ian |

Hi,
Have you Pirrelli fitted to any wheels? If so get rid of them. Fit almost anything else. Goodyear F1's, Toyo T1-R's etc There is a topic on this currently.. Search for Toyo to find the topic.. Also check your tyre pressures... Des. . .

I'm getting 4 new tyres for my 960 before the ones I have on kill me!!
Looking at Vredesteins, which I have been offered at a very good price. My S40 had Pirelli's on and that would follow the cracks in the road. let alone the ruts!

Cheers for your help.
I am always hot tyre pressures especailly when towing. When towing I always use the recommend pressure for a fully laden vehicle in the handbook. Is this ok or do you have a tip? |

Getting on a bit

What tyres are on the van, i run with a couple more lbs in the van tyres if the weight is getting close, do you run with a Stabiliser fitted, try checking that the friction pads are the correct tightness, i also have a 23" van and am running on Eagle NCT5,s on the car and Goodyear GT 80,s on the van, I find this combination is good for 80 mph withour any movement, hope this helps

I have a fairly new van so it has a alko aks2004 hitch and the tyres are Hanhook. Everyyear to b eon the sajf side i always get the tyres taken off the rim for inspections so i know their ok before teh season (on my old van i Had a blow out in france and it ended up being being very costly as i had to buy two michelins. There is a french rule which disallows different tyres on teh same axle)
checked the car earlier and found pirellis fitted, been ringing round and checking mytyres since for some prices. i am looking at either Goodyear F1, Michelin Pilot SPort 2 or Avon ZV3. Ive had toyo and the Avons in the past, AVons where great and the toyo lack grip when wet and didnt like them. regards Ian |

Hi,
Quote:
Have a look for the T1-R's as they are a vast improvement. Have them on my 940 and I have not been able to wheel spin corners since fitting.. Wet or not... Des. . .
