General: XC90 D5 - When did 185bhp engine come in?

Am looking to buy a used XC90 but just wanted to check exactly when the 163bhp engine was replaced by the 185bhp engine.

Also, how risky is it buying a used model without any service history?

2006.

The 163 bhp has a black cover. The 185 a silver engine cover. The 2006 XC90 also got a third generation Haldax drive with uprated propshafts and Haldax coupling, together with a new geartronic box with an extra gear.

I always go for full service history, but cars can lose their history when changing hands in the trade, a car is oviously worth less without a full service history.
