Default speedo cable 2

Before I do something silly please confirm that this is the right way to disconnect the speedo cable. Unscrewing from here after disconnecting from gearbox.

Whoops, egg on face! that's not the speedo cable, it's the clutch. So, how do I get to it?. How do I pull out the instrument panel? Looks like a bitch of a job.

Default bitch

No george, it's a fiddly bitch. There are two white plastic screws with knobs at the rear of the panel. Left and right. Unscrew those, disconnect all cables from the rear of the panel and you can just get it out.
Why do you need to get it out? You can find the speedo cable by feeling alone: screwed with a bezel ring to the rear of the panel. See parts books.
