Default CR905 Radio

Hi all. My 940 Radio is just the same as everyone else's - on the blink! It has been for a few years. No FM or CD.

I've been on the verge of replacing it with a whizz bang, double DIN GPS,DVB-TV,DVD, etc. job

Thought I'd pull it out and take a good look at it.

Not too hard too get out, although I've heard others have had some trouble.

Began disassembling it, by first removing the tape player. The head was quite bad. Kept it plugged in and began poking around. It wasn't long before I discovered this rectangular block just behind the antenna connection.

It has eight legs attached to the circuit board. After wiggling it around, and pressing and pulling on it - the FM and CD began working.

I don't know exactly what it is but it must distribute the signals.

Anyway, I re-soldered it to the the circuit board, which partially worked, as it
is still working most of the time, but does occasionally stop. With a slight twist it works again. It seems that it moves and there is a loose connection.

I will try soldering again, this time from the top too. I may have to find a way of securing its position too.

Anyone had experience with this?
