Default Do S60 brakes have wear indicators?

I had my S60 in for new top mounts on the front suspension a few weeks back at my local independant and they told me I had around 6000miles of life left in the rear brakes.

OK thought I, but now I'm wondering if I will get a warning on the dash or a noise from them to indicate they are nearly worn out?

I will replace them anyway next month (when I've been paid), but I'd be more confident if I knew I'd get a warning.
