Default hello and help

i have a 98 v70 10 valve, had it for about 6 months now and love it but it has just started cutting out ?
i work away from home so take the car to work monday morning and return fri/sat morning , when the car has warmed up it starts missing and wont rev right untill about 2k revs , but being an automatic it wont set off so left me stuck in the middle of the road last night where it cut out and wouldnt start again .
this morning i walked to where i had left it and it started fine and drove home but i left it running on the drive and as soon as it got warm again it started missing as tho it had a dead plug or 2 , i have replaced the plugs but its no better .
what next ? air intake sensor ? plug leads ?
i already have one car in bits in my garage s any more and the management is not going to be happy

Please can you be precise about the model? This could be an ETM problem - you'll find loads of info if you search on here.

If the car has a throttle cable then it's not ETM, but if there is no throttle cable it's an ETM car.

Other quick identifiers: ETM cars have blue Volvo badges on the steering wheel and grille, and no distributor cap. Non-ETM cars have black badges and a dissy cap!

Cheers

Jack

Thermostat or engine temp sensor problem? Seeing as it plays up when warm. I had a Rover 800 a few yrs back that did the same kind of thing, was the engine temp sensor, when the engine got warm the sensor kept telling the ecu that it was cold, and therefore it was overfuelling. Have read other threads similar to yours.

HTH

PS have u checked the plug leads or dizzy cap?

Check for fault codes using this method:

Does the temperature gauge get to 3 o'clock within a couple of miles from cold start and stay there?

was going to say the same thing.
Is your fan kicking in and how high is your tempreture gauge when it does kick in?
Did you anti freeze for the winter?Hope so,could have a cracked block now.
Fingers crossed for you on that.
I not to familiar with your car but I do know some of the guys on here, know these well and will help you out.
Seen loads of these sorts of posts and suffered same problems and it can be many many things.
Give us a reply to my questions, could simply be,your fan isnt kicking in which the relay is a common fault on these.

Exactly what I was thinking,OP chris is your man for this.
Depending on what his temp gauge and fan is doing could narrow this down me thinks.
