Exclamation Information Glitch

Hi All,

I have a 2007 Volvo S80. It has created a glitch that when the passenger door is closed, the dashboard reads that the key is no longer in the car.

The car will continue to drive without issue but the information warning will remain.

This notification on the dashboard does stop when you turn off the car but as soon as the passenger door is opened/closed again. The issue returns.

Any help with this would be much appreciated. Cheers

Hello Sean86,

I had a similar problem with my V70, but with the driver's door. It would intermittenty either fail to start, warn me that the door was open when it was closed, or complain about they key.

My local Volvo garage diagnosed it as a faulty door wiring loom that probably had cracked wires making intermittent contact sending unexpected and erroneous signals to the car's "brain".

They replaced the wiring loom in the door and all returned to normal and has been fine ever since.

Hi richardt1994,

Much appreciated for the feedback. I'll look into this as your experience sounds like what mine is going through. Thanks again for your feedback.
