Default C30 Intermittent Vibration/Rumble at Speed

I did a 140 odd mile trip on friday evening, after the car had basically been sat for a couple of weeks. Obviously the brake discs were rusty as all hell and the handbrake was stuck on a little, but once that was cleared off with some light left foot braking there was an intermittent rumble or vibration coming through the pedals and a little bit through the steering wheel. It would fade in and out, and became worse (when it was there at all) above 65-70mph and when braking. It reminded me of a bad wheel bearing but surely that wouldn't just come and go at random? Any ideas?
