Sounds like a laugh, I might well be up for it in my old dog mobeel. Keep me posted.

If not route 38, try Betty Cottles on outskirts of Okehampton. Big carpark, good beers and large bar.

If you want something different and spooky, what about the Highwayman Inn at Sourton on the A386 between Okehampton and Tavistock, big car park limited food but a must see!! Checkout :-

Ok, before you start, all the places I've mentioned are actually in Devon, but being from Yorkshire, living in Devon, I'm tight as the proverbial nat's chuff.

Well they are on my doorstep so I'll have to have a drive by and look at all the Volvos!!!!

happy new year to you all
route 38 sounds good just down the road for me from plymouth but if want to go somewere else that fine was looking a place that have been posted drove pass the highman so many times in the passed just never stopped there is also the fox and hound if it is still there

Must say, if you've never been in the Highwayman, you don't know what your missing, its a must see pub, totally unique in this day of faceless, corporate pub chains.

Then again I've been passed Route 38 many times and never been in there either...
