Hi, the V70 and XC70 PDF's are one and the same (both refer to XC70 model year 12 on). Is this correct please?

I noticed a minor difference on my 2012 XC70 lock cover to the one he worked on and he was kind enough to show how the job is done for mine. When the module arrives and I summon up the courage to install it, I'll report back on how it went.
I promised to report on the installation. All went smoothly and the system now works as I want it to. I agree with others that the close has a delay after pressing the button but it's acceptable. I only had two minor problems. Firstly Evgeny was dead right when he said that the trim fixing clips are fragile! I broke three and had to buy replacements from Volvo at extortionate prices and they had to order them in as they don't keep stock! Secondly I discovered why the lock has a plastic cover over it. And the gash in my forehead will probably leave a scar for life after I stood up under the exposed steel lock. Being a Volvo, the lock wasn't damaged at all!

Evgeny has fitted tiny sprung claw ends to the leads and these fit into the backs of the connectors and hold the new cables firmly in contact with the existing ones. A strategically placed miniature cable tie prevents the new cables moving and loosening contact.

I'm very pleased with the module and the mod is a success for me.

Why not email Evgeny direct and ask his advice? He has been very helpful to me.

If this is not the best place to ask this question, I apologise.

After fitting the remote tailgate closure module, I notice that when the tail gate opens it doesn't rise as far as it could and has to be pushed the last 20 or so cms by hand. It will remote close from this position but when reopened still only opens to the slightly lower position. I'd prefer it to open completely to avoid hitting my head on it!

Is there a way to program it to fully open? Was there before the module was fitted? is it the module which limits the full opening? Anyone have any experience on this issue that can assist me?>

I have emailed the manufacturer to see if he can help me to get it working so if and when he replies and I get it working then I will post on here my findings.

Default Correct info my14?

Just bought one module and i am just seeking confirmation that there has been no change regarding the tailgate system since 2012 ( mine is My14)?

As i understand the mounting instruction for my12 and forward should be ok for me?

Sorry for posting about something that may be obvious, but i do not want to remove the door panel and see what instruction that may fit before the module has arrived!

Cheers Vesslan

I have the same problem. The way to program it is by opening it, manually moving it to where you want it set and then hold the remote button for 3 secs. Problem is that holding the button in for 3 secs is how you close it.

Mine seems quite random - sometimes it will open fully, other times not. Since fitting the mod, this is the case even when just using the normal opening and closing with the boot switch as the standard set up.

Evgeny Kosourov, who makes the module, seems to have difficulty logging in to this forum but he does follow it and answered my question by email. You are right, the module will override the programming command, so you disconnect the module, program the tailgate and then reconnect the module. If you follow his advice about positioning the module close behind the operating button on the tailgate, you can just pull the module through the button aperture on the slack cable that you have left for this purpose and unplug it. The tailgate will then operate as it originally did and can be programmed. Then plug in the module again, push it through the button aperture and replace the button. Be careful not to disturb the extra cable connection when fiddling with the module and button. (You can tell that I did and wondered why the thing stopped working!)
