that's all from the top of my head (haven't seen any 400 series in movies though...)
I remember that stiff falling onto the 200 in "con air"..outrageous i say!...hj.

Those cars were part of the very large Volvo fleet the government of GDR had. GDR refused to buy the Russian cars as they were not realiable and very uneconomical. Volvo, being based in the neutral Sweden, sold them what they wanted. Today those cars are collectables and very expensive. They also had 740/760 limo's.

OT: Volvo also shipped a load of (22 cars I think) 144's to North Korea many years ago and never got paid for them..... many are still gracing the empty roads of Pyongyang!

I remember seeing this as a kid. I think this and seeing Volvos stacked up on one another made me become a fan of Volvos

Right, I'll apologise for this one before I post it! It's got a 244 in it though.

Not quite sure why I looked it up, it just 'popped into my weird head' & I just had to see it!

I'm surprised no-one's mentioned that Luther drives an old 240 saloon in the brilliant BBC cop drama aptly titled "Luther".

Unfortunately last week was the last in the series.....

Off topic now but can I get away with that here? In the late 1970s at "a teaching hospital in England" a live patient jumped from the top floor of a very old ward block. Landed on the roof of a Volvo saloon hitting it in the middle of the rear window. The roof caved in making a very neat V shape, widest part at front of the roof. The patient benefited from Volvo safety. They were checked over and put back in to bed, unharmed.

I'm ashamed to say, I didn't note the model of the Volvo!
