After a long time on hold, I was told that they defined it as engine tuning and that the additional charge would be £21 and a few pence. The price increase to me looks very close to 10% - was your policy circa £460 by any chance ?

Very close, it is £463. Guess your right with the 10%.

See my post #56.

Direct Line told me it is now known as a Chip,Management System. Maybe that would help clarify it for LV?

I am paying about £5 extra for a year.

Tried to get it on the T6 I’m waiting for. Dealer says it’s not available for my car 🙁

I’m interested in Polestar for my 2019 D4 automatic. How do people describe it to the insurance companies? My understanding is that the increase in performance is pretty low but the overall optimisation in terms of smoother gear changes etc.

I’m just about to switch to LV insurance who I believe are polestar friendly but just wondering if it’s classed as an engine chipping process or official after market upgrade etc

Hi, I had a quote from LV this week, my current renewal premium is £463 for the year. LV quoted an additional £46 for the year. It was classified as an engine remap as they did not recognise the Polestar Optimisation option.

My experience is similar to KFCKFC.
LV charged me an additional £21 which is roughly a 10% hike on the policy. On the documentation, they call it "Engine Tuned". They didn't ask about BHP increase etc.
