Poor thing.☹️
I have no space but it's still in my watch list. MOT history shows it's had rust issues and that it failed it's last MOT in 17 due to rust.

I want to save it but don't really need Rustberg 2

Some of the most enjoyable moments of my life didn’t involve a cost analysis prior to my doing them!

Musings of an unrepentant old git😀

Each to their own Steve. There would be a good case for buying one that was already in a good state (like that blue auto saloon that I quite liked but everyone else thought boring a few days ago) for £3,000 rather than spend 8 grand doing this one up so it is okay. The £5,000 difference might give me quite a bit of enjoyment.

Just the musings of a grumpy man with a beard and a dog called Bob.

Addendum: see Jackman’s comment about rust and the last MoT Steve, this one will be rotten as a pear underneath, so that £8,000 SWAG of mine may be a bit conservative. If you still aren’t convinced have a look at Jackman’s YouTube series about the Rustberg - your rose tinted spectacles will darken very quickly.

I am on board for that to, we can save that car, it just needs love and maybe some body cuts from another car.

Did you consider this one as a body parts donor:

https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showthread.php?t=339491

… the title says it is for sale - but I don’t think the owner can be serious about getting anything for it (well, maybe £200 from the Romanian scrap collector). Collection would be an issue from Penzance, and it is a bit later model, but that might be an advantage if you wanted to modernise the Rustberg a bit.

Just a thought from a grumpy man with a beard and a dog called Bob.

That car also looks a bit poorly too. Right now I am fixing my daily as that managed to catch some rust issues from the rustberg. After that I'm going to work on my Amazon, it will be nice to get it back on the road for it's 60th birthday.

Doesn't stop me from wanting more financial mistakes.

This may be one of the earliest, if not the earliest, 245s in the UK. See thread here: https://www.volvoforums.org.uk/showp...6&postcount=58
