I'd love to drop an LS1 motor in a 960 but I can't see them being cheap over here.

Admittedly going back a few years used to be able get low mileage cut outs from the states at reasonable prices (£1200 remember a friend paying for a ls1 42000 miler)to his doorstep,it was all about finding a good vendor(not ebay) and theres still bargains to be had in some of the american car scrappies in uk (doesnt have to be a chevy)if youre prepared to really search, being in the right place at the right time, and how resourceful you are,ive lost touch with most now.
I suppose it also depends how much you are willing to sacrifice for the pursuit of reliable power,,,,,,,,,,,,some of us are bloody stupid especially when you get to the stage of having engines in your house(clean ones mind) lol.
ps ruslodo have you considered n20 plenty of easy install kits(trevor langfield at wizards of nos for advice)plus have the economy of driving round sanely until those certain moments and depending on bottle size not too many frequent refills,,,,,,,,how many minutes are you going to be at full chat, lol, but as always knock on effects in the standard powertrain.

Goodwrench engines are pretty good prices, or some of the crate engines from firms like Edelbrock. Ccheck out Real Steel for instance.
Plus you get the simplicity of a 1950s design classic that sounds awesome and has ample power.
It is the cost of a decent transmission that is the problem, unless you can tolerate an automatic.

Lol whats wrong with a decent auto,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,no accidental wrong gear changes in the heat of the moment,,nice soft hit to the driveline,no bloody leg ache in todays traffic, arguably newer ones more economical than manuals and you have consistent quarter times plus you can convert the th350/400 to manual change, just no clutch,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,totally understand peoples choice of manuals mind, just some peeps having 68hr weeks with lgv16 gear manuals an auto is a relief, mind you most lgvs are virtually all semi autos now.

Default Guy Martin

Guy Martin has the Amazon estate which he paid 70k for. Which is a T6 engine not 960 3l.
