Now that you mention part testing, I have realised that the only parts that haven't been "tested" to see if they're getting the right numbers are the senors in the new DPF filter. Everything else was sested such as MAF sensor, injectors, EGR valves and so on.
Will mention to check them yes. Thanks. |

Thinking back to your cylinder 4 issue (sorry if this has been asked and answered and I forgot), you mentioned swapping injectors between a working cylinder makes no difference. Has anyone actually verified you have power and signal to cylinder 4 injector??

Have they put NOID lights on the injector plugs?

I suggested the ECU may be faulty some posts further up, it's possible the output stage in the ECU has been lost/is intermittent on the cylinder that's not firing, inspecting the wiring wouldn't show this up but a NOID light will.

I’ve had a quick browse of this thread, looks like a lot of heart ache. Surely a Volvo specialist with Vida dice would have been your best option early on. Then I read the timing belt snapped. As was mentioned you are lucky to escape damage. You say compression is all good but you are still left with a poor running car.
What I have seen before on one of these is when a timing belt has snapped the cam lobes rotate on the shaft as they are only a press fit. Timing is obviously out even tho all marks from the outside line up. Just a thought.............. Also the injectors, are they correctly coded to the car with right one in each cylinder. You mentioned they have being swapped about and all sorts. It sounds a bit of a mess with every Tom dick and a Harry being having a poke and no further forward.

Pre Christmass update
Had a cleaning specialist check for any blockades that might be hidden somewhere causing issues from their past experience, but everything checks out. Everything from the exhaust manifold is clean and no blockades.
Guess from we we're gonna take a few steps back. I want to fully re-check everything related to the injectors, such as connections and cables. Then see from there. Funniest part is I bought a temporary replacement car to get me places while this one doesn't run, and a year has passed and my replacement car soon will need to pass its MOT and I have doubts. Fun 2 months ahead for me now. |
