R2 used to be my goto station when I was travelling, good music and the mornings were a delight, unfortunately it has since been subjected to the BBC's policy of dumbing down their output to suit the lowest common denominator syndrome.

Interesting thread leading me to reflect on my journey from Radio 1 (many years ago), through Radio 2 and after a brief flirtation with Radio Wales to end up with Greatest Hits Radio. BBC seems to have a habit of change for changes sake usually following a change of channel controller. Being a creature of habit or ocd as my wife would say I get used to a station and tend to stick with it until a change I don’t like happens eg Radio Wales disrupting my morning routine by giving the unbearable Jason Mohammed a show. Really enjoying GHR just now even worth paying the premium £30 odd a year to avoid adverts.

The finest form of outside interference in life. You can be doing almost anything and still be engaged.

Apart from 12 year old top brass buggering about with the BBC , it’s my favourite medium. Don’t listen as much since doing less driving.

Still angry about losing the Radio 4 theme at 06:20 , a great start to the day.

So it's like a modern version of Spotify but only over WiFi?
What about LTE or IPoC, or do you need a local access point available?

Wireless, to some generations, is a confusing term.

To we 70ish old sods, it is old fashioned radio.

I suppose literally, it just means, “without wires “.

Gave up listening to music radio years ago because mainstream channels were awful. Listened to R4 for years but some of the contents quality really nosedived for me. Been listening to TalkSport now for many years, brilliant listen, engaging presenters, top guests. Music tends to be one of the many classic rock or soul/jazz channels, but that's less than 5% of my time. Only listen in car.

No, no, no! First off you need a suitable lump of crystal then find a nice pussycat and take one of it's whiskers, then you, then , well it all gets a bit vague but you get the general picture. I think it all works with pixies but again I'm not sure

I’m sure there’s an old crystal set in the shed at my brother’s!

Happy days with the Bakelite headphones on!

Give over!🤨
