I would want to see the Guildford one at that price. However, the ebay one in Bury St Edmunds is intriguing, especially as it's near you for a quick looksee and, has all those spare parts!!!

Sorry, wasn't available in my (740, 1989) model year so not in my owners manual. Googling for stats always turns up American figures which are all different again due to their emissions regs and the fact their engines are (almost) all non-interference so I didn't bother. If someone has a UK handbook for a later model year to hand, they could probably fill in the blank.

Both the sill ends on that 240 are far too rusty for an £8k pricetag!

A day with a wire wheel, some bilt hamber and some hammerite like I did on mine would have it looking nice and shiny and preserved for a bit longer.
Given they are going for top dollar, they ought to have done that as part of the sale prep.

Bob.
Of course my comments about electronics were tongue in cheek. That said, I do like Kjet, its what I grew up with, and I like the elegant simplicity of it.

The 'best' of the N/A engines in my personal opinion, was the B23E that my parents had in a 1983 Y reg 240 GLT. IF I remember correctly it was ~140hp, with quite an agressive cam that made for a slightly lumpy(er than normal!) idle.
17 year old me had some fun in that!

Some amount of spares with the blue one Steve. Not sure about the dubious gear stick though Strikes me as a bit of a Eugene Pearson mota

Hi Mark,

Message to seller has already gone, and one of the questions is exactly about the ‘dubious’ gearstick, sort of the thing a chap who wears a baseball cap round the wrong way, trying to think his Volvo has a touring car sequential shift.

But then that stereotype, is polar opposite of a responsible chap who uses gear-lever/handbrake lock …. Most odd.

Have offered to view Friday if he’s about, and take a pocket full of notes.

Trouble is these days trying to find a bank that’s open to supply cash😀😀

Cheers
Steve

A baseball cap on backwards in these parts is known as an IQ lowerer !🤨
