I had a 480 1.7 Naturally Aspirated Version, and it would regularly go off the clock.
But only when i was going down a 2 mile long steep hill. |

My normal 440 glt 2.0, going for a bit of a pelt on the m6, had it up to ***ish and it felt like it could do much much more. not sure about 240. but im sure it would do at least 135 or so.
they are awesomely underated cars, that people just ignore because its a volvo

I've got to say I have know a couple of 2ltr 400's that will do about 130 - 135 with a well worn in engine. I suppose with a few mods (remove cat K&N etc) you would get about 140. It takes a lot more power to gain extra top end speed

At the first year, (~5000km) it couldn't reach more than 170kmh(105mph) Today, just with a K&N air filter and 170000km on clock, it can catch 220km/h (~135mph) and can go for more...! How can you explain this.....?? |
