Also be aware that the MY2014 R-Design no longer has leather seats as standard - it's now a £500 option.
O yes thanks for that I see you have to have "R Design LUX" to get the leather seats now. 20% off and 0% with DTD thats good.... I had been pushing my local dealer for a 15% discount and £22,000 trade in for a 12000 miler 10 plate R Design with plenty of extras. I think this would be a good deal "for both of us"

£22K trade-in sounds generous - what is the spec.................?

You can still have leather seats with the standard R-Design but it's now a £500 option. You no longer get the sill protectors either...but I really need the configurator to come up as there are country-to-country differences between the models. The MY14 UK configurator was supposed to be going live yesterday.

I'm also looking at the SE Lux variants as I like the rear integrated exhausts on them - in fact I think that they look better than the R-Design. I'm just a bit concerned about the softer suspension compared to my current R-Design, although I see that the SE Lux variants are now offered with a 'Dynamic Chassis' as a no-cost option - does anyone know what this is? I quite fancy the new Rich Java colour option too.

I may be sensible to wait to test-drive the cars........

Think I went mad at the time D4 AWD AUTO, sunroof, Nav, active xenons, heated rear seats, electric pasanger seat, premium sound, electric boot, and the best of all Keyless PCC, thats the one thing I could not do without...... I am only getting my info from the "Vehicle order guide MY14 v2" think you are right about the SE models too, I was thinking the same, even the dealer suggetes I wait to see and test drive the SE and R design first before making my mind up. like you wish the configurator would hurry up.

I have to admit a slight concern about my order. I test drove an R-design as that was the one with a towbar but have ordered the SE Lux as I don't like the R-design. I am not concerned about solo ride/handling just it's towing stability, the whole reason to change from the V70. Fingers crossed otherwise VERY expensive error.
Anyway, my caravan maker has just gone into administration so I may not be keeping it long term.

And I have added dealer fit reversing camera to the spec at about twice the price of factory fit - should've thought harder when I placed the order!!

I thought that the D4 AWD didn't become available until MY12 - it wasn't an option when I bought my D3 in 2010 (60 reg). I've also been looking at the XC70's with DTD - up to 25% off new models and a bit more off the run-out model.

Crickey got me thinking now... I know it is a 175hp 2.4 4x4 June 10 plate...does that mean it is a D3 ?... I remember at the time a lower HP version was available later that year and i was paying a higher road tax...for the 175. I will keep to another XC60, tried the Evoque and the Q5 and didnt like them. think i might wait and try the SE v R Design, If I go mad with the options again I am looking at low £40ks I think with discount. OR... Do I sell the wifes car, and her and the kids and even consider the new Range Rover Sport ? tell me I am having a mad moment even cosidering this ? (i am not loaded and am not a landrover fan "I didnt think")

Try speccing one out on WWW.orange wheels.co.UK.

They are offering over 15% discounts too.

Would you BG e able to get a VOC discount over this too? Or is the VOC discount a bit if marketing smoke and mirrors?

I looked at Orange they were a fair bit more expensive but it does all depend upon the car / spec etc?

Now the website has updated info for the 2014MY there are differences to the preliminary info I had when I ordered the car. The Security pack (laminated side windows and keyless drive) is back at £700 and the non-availability of tinted and laminated side windows together has gone.
Not over bothered as I can get tinting done locally and I only thought that the Security pack was good value. If you wanted laminated side glass anyway the keyless drive was only £200 effectively.
I do like the colour I've chosen as it seem to figure in the website quite a bit. And I am glad that I have not gone for the Pan alloys, they look fiddly to clean.

I'm actually getting quite excited about the car coming. The last two V70s were "just another V70" but the XC60 is going to be different.
