This is all very interesting and thanks to this post it looks like its not related to the D3 or Drive its purely down to the popularity of the car. I notice that Drive the deal have increased their published price by £500 since I got mine. According to that I've beaten drive the deal which works for me :-) |

Order was in 22nd April, but I've no idea which dealer it was placed with as the lease company use several "preferred" suppliers. Whomever the dealer is must have reconfigured a slot they had booked already for me to get one within 7 weeks. Either way I'm counting myself very lucky.

When I used to lease cars I recall that they always gave a long lead time and invariably the car would appear much quicker than the lease company had said.
The lst time this happened I queried why this was and they had 2 explantions 1) it was better to set the expectations low as it was easier to give the client a car early than explain why it was late 2) if the spec was reasonably standard then they could often pick up a car very close to the requirment and offer early as a replacement. This allowed the them to get it cheaper as these replacement cars were often as a result of cancelled orders. All in all, there is hope as the 'delivery dates' are a lot more flexible than the kids were when they appeared |
