  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Top work fella i must do mine soon it's just it's so cold out it took me two weeks to be brave enough to go and do the service let alone spend hours draining fluid.

Well the quicker you are, the quicker that nice bloke can pop round and reset all your counters and adaptation for you

If i bring the oil to Ripponden we can do it in the carpark of the pub. lol

By all means, do it beforehand and I can plug in at ripponden and do they techie bits.

I think that fluid is a dexron3 one and not compatible with the volvo Aisin Warner transimision

Hard to say is not compatible,all oils in Europe made in same place,but names can be changed.Volvo have agreement with Mobil that is one of arguments.

I wouldn't be so sure. Volvo spec is 3309 ATF (same as Toyota T-IV and Opel 3309) but that isn't the same as Dexron III, for a start 3309 has special friction modifiers for the clutches in these AW gearboxes, which no Dexron spec oil has.

There is certainly more than one type of ATF for Europe, many in fact.

Personally, I wouldn't dare put anything other than 3309 in an AW55 gearbox, it's a false economy if it kills the box after all!

I bought 12L for mine at a total cost of £88 inc. VAT from a Vauxhall dealer. I don't think that's so much to pay to ensure it's the right stuff myself.
