So many people get mixed up by the fact that on trying to remove the original bushes , the centre rubber section pushes out leaving the ORIGINAL BUSH outer sleeve in place. This HAS TO BE REMOVED

Bad quality - took with phone in garage. You can see one metal sleeve, its the only sleeve on this non oil type fitment.

That arm is now ready to take the poly bush.
What we need to know is the O/D of the new OEM bush pictured in post #40 by Thassos. I have a suspicion that this item is a direct fit into the alloy wishbone, and requires removal of the outer sleeve which remains after removing the outer casing of the original bush - as shown in the above post by Chasaxl. That will require heat and a flypress - not a job for the average home mechanic.

Which part of 'that arm is now ready for polybush' did you not understand ?
My statement clearly referred to the modified OEM bush on post #40. The forum has been at the polybush stage for 18 months or more - see my post #32 on this thread for a comprehensive description. I am interested to hear from our old friend Thassos on the O/D of the uprated Volvo OEM bush on post #40.

OEM bush dia
Hi Chopper,
As you say this thrad has been going ages !,, I measure (with a digital caliper), t= around 8c Bush diameter 48.05 - 48.40mm dia depending on where you measure. This is an old bush that has been pressed out of the wishbone, not new. |

Only one bush
The only slight differences to the OEM bush were down to the rubber part of it as far as im aware, ie
a- Early ones were rubber with oil void, b- Rubber version only followed this c- Improved police spec version followed this * b&c dont have oil in them! *this is the only part you can get through volvo now As far as im aware the OD of the metal sleeved bush is identical for the 3 'versions' above ie early ones can be replaced with c version but ive never seen the early (a) ones, only b+c.
